About Nancy Konisky
Nancy Konisky of Millbury, MA, is the Director of Finance and Operations for the Athol Royalston Regional School District, a highly-rated public school district with an enrollment of over 1,000 students. Each year, Konisky oversees all financial transactions for the entire school system. This includes helping to develop new school budgets and tracking payments for food services, facility maintenance, and payroll allocation for the school district’s human resource department.
With a career spanning decades, Nancy Konisky has ascended the ranks of the Massachusetts public school system, serving in various financial accounting and HR Director roles. Her journey includes significant roles within the Sutton Public School District, Berlin Boylston Regional School, and the Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School in Marlborough, MA. Her expertise extends beyond budget preparation and expense management, as she is also well-versed in the financial reporting and compliance requirements specific to each school district.
As a native of Massachusetts, Nancy Konisky has a deep-rooted connection to the state. She has lived in several of its most distinctive communities, each with unique charm and historic architectural styles. Her personal life also reflects this connection, as she has owned and resided in one of the state’s iconic townhomes and has enjoyed redecorating two of her family homes, blending modern features within the backdrop of Early American architecture.
A Monument Mountain Regional High School graduate, Konisky went on to attend Berkshire Community College, where she received an Associate of Science in Business Administration. This path of study set a foundation for her career in both business and finance, where she learned the basics of accounting, business technology, and employee management. She went on to attend Western New England College and completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, which gave her the advanced skills to move into executive-level business administration and finances. She then received her licensure in School Business Administration.
Konisky started her path to becoming a strong female role model, working in the financial departments of leading business groups and financial services firms. This included a stint as Assistant Credit Manager at Forward Financial Company, where she oversaw all aspects of the credit department, from lending to human resources for the marine and recreational vehicles division. Nancy also worked as a Mortgage Department Manager for Commerce Bank and Trust before transitioning into administrative roles with the public school system.
